【摘要】:1.1Thisguideaddressesmeansofconductingfull-scalefireexperimentsthatevaluatethefire-test-responsecharacteristicsofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.2Itisintendedasaguideforthedesignoftheexperimentandfortheuseandinterpretationofitsresults.Theguideisalsousefulforestablishinglaboratoryconditionsthatsimulateagivensetoffireconditionstothegreatestextentpossible.1.3Thisguideallowsuserstoobtainfire-test-responsecharacteristicsofmaterials,products,orassemblies,whichareusefuldatafordescribingorappraisingtheirfireperformanceunderactualfireconditions.1.3.1Theresultsofexperimentsconductedinaccordancewiththisguidearealsousefulelementsformakingregulatorydecisionsregardingfiresafetyrequirements.Theuseforregulatorypurposesofdataobtainedfromexperimentsconductedusingthisguiderequiresthatcertainconditionsandcriteriabespecifiedbytheregulatingauthority.1.4Therationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsinaccordancewiththisguideisshownin1.5-1.81.5Roomfireexperimentsareameansofgeneratinginputdataforcomputerfiremodelsandforprovidingoutputdatawithwhichtocomparemodelingresults.1.6Oneofthemajorreasonsforconductingroomfireexperimentsisasanexperimentalmeansofassessingthepotentialfirehazardassociatedwiththeuseofamaterialorproductinaparticularapplication.Thisshouldbeborneinmindwhendesigningnonstandardexperiments.1.7Arationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsisthecasewhensmaller-scalefiretestsinadequatelyrepresentend-useapplications.1.8Afurtherrationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsistoverifytheresultsobtainedwithsmallerscaletests,tounderstandthescalingparametersforsuchtests.1.9Roomfiretestscanbeplacedintofourmaincategories:reconstruction,simulation,research,andstandardization.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditionsThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
