【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingbasicorganicnitrogeninpetroleumdistillatesusingpotentiometrictitration.Thismethodmaybeappliedtobothclearandcoloredsamples.Therangeofquantitationforpetroleumdistillatesisfrom0.0005to1.0mass-%nitrogen,whileforviscousmaterials,suchasheavyoils,therangeis0.001to5.00mass-%nitrogen.Thismethodmaygiveerroneousresultsformaterialscontainingbasesotherthannitrogencompounds(e.g.,caustic-washeddistillatescontainingsodiumsoaps,orcrudeoilcontaininginorganicbases).Clearorverylightlycoloredsamplesmaybeanalyzeddowntoalowerlimitofquantitationof0.5mass-ppm(0.00005mass-%)usingthecolorindicatortitrationtechniquedescribedintheAppendix.
